Cynthia Joi Towner - From Double Dutch to Double Impact 

As a young girl jumping double dutch on the streets of Chicago's South Side, Cynthia Joi Towner dreamed of being a star on stage, twirling and singing. While life had different plans, it ultimately led her to an even bigger stage – one where she could inspire and transform lives globally. "I wanted to be a teacher," Cynthia recalls, reflecting on her childhood aspirations.

This desire to educate and inspire others remained dormant until a life-altering stroke in 2014 reignited her passion for teaching – though in a way she never expected. The stroke, while challenging, became the catalyst that would transform her childhood dream into a powerful mission of hope and empowerment. Watching her sister-in-law build a successful salon business and witnessing her older sister's dedication to caring for their family despite adversity, Cynthia found the inspiration to create something meaningful.

These strong female role models showed her that building something from the ground up was possible, even in the face of significant challenges. Today, through Strength in You, Cynthia has evolved from that little girl who loved to perform into a powerful voice for the stroke survivor community and people with different abilities. Her childhood dream of being on stage has manifested in a different but more impactful way – as an international speaker, coach, and inspiration to countless individuals.

This philosophy has transformed her childhood aspirations of teaching into a global mission of empowerment, proving that sometimes our dreams don't disappear – they simply evolve into something even more magnificent than we could have imagined.
